The survey-based study looks at advisor outsourcing across a variety of functions (including investment management). TD Ameritrade found that nearly 75% of advisors outsource at least one business function. The study gives a detailed look at functions advisors outsource and the pros and cons.

SEI worked with FP Transitions, who has performed more than 8,000 RIA practice valuations over 10 years, to study the value of time that advisors spend on clients versus investments. A key finding was that advisors who focus mostly on clients rather than investments often funnel that time savings into improved growth, faster asset acquisition, and higher client retention rates.
