Defensive Growth Strategy - Overview

The Defensive Growth Strategy's primary objective is to achieve preservation of capital. In pursuit of its objective, the strategy looks to emphasize absolute (positive) returns and low volatility across all market cycles. The portfolio is constructed using institutional mutual funds, ETFs and closed-end funds, all of which pursue their own individual strategies. Examples of underlying fund strategies include hedged equity, long and short fixed income, arbitrage and global macro. Defensive Growth's multiple strategy and sector approach seeks to provide greater overall returns with similar volatility when compared to the HFRI Fund of Funds Composite Index.
